RESUME

Anchor 1
Objective

As a recent graduate and doctoral program applicant, I still feel a responsibility to both my academic pursuits and to those of my students. Given my dual role as instructor and student, I am a proficient multitasker, public speaker, researcher and essayist. I have adapted to long work days, inconsistent work schedules and completing short and long-term tasks ahead of deadlines. I can quickly become an asset to your company or program not on these traits alone, but with the addition of my work ethic, readiness to learn and willingness to contribute.

Rhetoric and Writing Studies, Teaching Assistant

2013-2015

I personalized a programmatic curriculum and lesson planned for the two sections of RWS 1301 and RWS 1302. I provided students with a syllabus, calendar, list of texts and required materials, assignment handouts and rubrics and a well-organized, fully functional Blackboard shell. I held regular office hours, and consistently conducted class meetings during the scheduled dates and times. I commented on and graded all student work in a timely fashion; I had both midterm and final grades in before the deadline.

Throughout the semester, I stressed to students that writing is neither good nor bad, but is either effective or ineffective; the various traditional essays, multimodal assignments, peer reviews and one-on-one workshops, as well as the assignment reflection “blogs” were constructed to aid students in developing a comfortable composition process in which effective work was produced in various genres and for various discourse communities. I was also sure to introduce students to the various recourses which their tuition here at UTEP entitles them, encouraged their attendance at the RWS E-Portfolio Workshops and facilitated technology workshops with the ATLAS Lab.
